While in the same general where I found the wild horse trio featured in October's story called 'Full Throttle', I couldn't resist driving their way in hopes of a chance to see them again. I didn't know what to expect in this extremely remote region, but sure enough they were exactly where I had last seen them. Whether driven by curiosity, loneliness or some other factors -- these three would again approach me over and over. Read more
This confident and inquisitive juvenile watched me from a distance and couldn't resist walking right up to me. In another 'no-step' sequence where I remain in a fixed position, the young wild horse eventually approached to within 2-3 feet before drifting off with his herd. Read more
I love it when horses come up for a closer look. This handsome wild horse at the McCullough Peaks HMA trotted and galloped his way over to me after starting well over a quarter mile away. At his closest, he would pass by about 20 feet away before heading on to a larger group of horses nearby. The sunlight was excellent and showed off his rich colors and long, dark mane. Read more
